Changes in Oaxaca (Dave Slaymaker): I have made many trips to Oaxaca but even so I tend to forget the extreme the poverty  and difficulties the children in our program face.  It has been several years since I visited homes of  the families we serve. In January I visited four families and was reminded just how difficult life was for the Oaxacan poor; many people sharing one small room, no running water, sanitation and inadequate nutrition are the norm. On the other hand, my recent visit  allowed me to see how much OSCGR has accomplished over the years.  Thanks to sponsors, donors and volunteers the center is filled with more than 600 happy children who are attending school and have new hope for a bright future.

Trivani Foundation (Dave Slaymaker): Since our move to the building on Crespo a few years ago the roof has been a continual problem. We have been plagued by leaks and are now concerned about its safety and unable to use a room on the first floor due to fears about the roof above.  Fortunately we were contacted by Megan McMillan at the Trivani Foundation (A non-profit humanitarian organization). After talking with Megan for several months we met recently in Oaxaca. I am excited to say that the Trivani Foundation has agreed to assist us financially in making these urgent roof repairs at the center. Many thanks to Megan and Trivani Foundation!
